California-based electrical plane firm Ampaire has acquired Magpie Aviation, a Silicon Valley-based developer of electrical tow plane.
Ampaire has developed hybrid electrical propulsion programs that may be built-in into basic aviation and regional turboprop business plane.
Ampaire says the addition of Magpie’s expertise will allow it to supply distinctive options to its clients, and can broaden its IP and contract portfolio by way of Magpie’s pending patents and authorities contracts, together with with the US Air Pressure. In 2023, Magpie demonstrated an automatic towing connection between two flying plane.
