Geoffrey Taylor’s Alta Automobile and Engineering Firm was based in 1929 and produced sports activities racing and some highway vehicles previous to WWII. In 1950, they constructed a System One automotive and entered 5 races as a constructor. However F1 was, as at all times, costly. So Taylor turned his attentions to F2.

Their first System Two automotive was in-built 1951, and this instance is the second of 5 constructed. It competed in races in 1951 and 1952 and was bought by its present proprietor in 1974.
